When you go out in winter time, due to rapid change in temperature, lens of the camera can get foggy. You can not take good pictures with a foggy lens unless you deliberately want it to be foggy in order to create a certain effect. Wiping the lens is a common mistake. Do not do it!

Why not to Wipe the thin water layer on the lens?

You can damage your lens and scratch it.

If you try to wipe it off, you’ll smudge it! Which is not good also. Because when you smudge the water on your lens it will leave stains as it dries up and it will be really hard to get rid of them.

How to get rid of Fog on the Lens?

There’s a simple yet effective solution; just wait! Wait a couple of minutes and the optics will adjust to the new tempereature. As a result the fog will disappear with time. That’s all, all you need to do is doing nothing…

Winter is coming and it is a great season for photography. In fact all seasons have their own beauty, and they are both great for photography depending on what kind of pictures do you want to take. Anyway I’ll write some tips about taking pictures in winter in the coming posts.

Winter is a great time especially for landscape and nature photography. Endless plains covered with snow, icy eaves of a house or the beauty of an individual slow flake… But winter also bring some problems with it in terms of photography. Such as foggy lenses, harder outdoor working conditions, under or over-exposed pictures due to reflections form snow surface. We’ll all talk about them in the coming posts…

I also want to make something clear. Since i changed ermany.net into a weekly blog from a daily blog, i was often writing about cameras. Reviews, lenses, comparisons… Since i’m writing weekly i’m trying to pick the topics that my readers (you) want and show interest. And statistical data showed that my readers want to see camera reviews thus i wrote about them. But also there are others that want to see tips in ermany.net. So i’ll try to balance the ratio of topics.
