Refurbished Cameras

Refurbished products are the products that returned to the factory because of a failure and fixed. This kind of cameras are still under the warranty of company. But because of the failure they had they are much cheaper than the market value of the camera. They are completely functioning cameras, there’s almost no difference between a new camera and refurbished camera. You still have the warranty, in case if there’s any problem. You can get it fixed or replaced if you have any problems with the camera. I used a refurbished camera for 2 years and i had no problems. Of course this doesn’t mean that you won’t have any problems but the important thing is you have the warranty. Plus you may experience some problems with the brand new camera either. So if you have a limited budget consider this option. You can buy 350D which is about $400 for $300 if you choose to buy a refurbished one.

Buying from Another Country

I’m sure you all know what Globalization is. Globalization is supposed to balance the price in worldwide due to changing demand for a differently priced product in different countries. But because of the tariffs, quotas and customs it is nothing more than a dream, at least for now. That’s why we are paying different amounts of money for the same product in different countries. But still there are some opportunities that globalization provides us. You can shop from other countries without actually going there. So why not to use this opportunity? Use search engines like Google, or worldwide shopping web sites like eBay to find the price of the camera you are looking for in different countries. See if they shipping the camera to your country?

Let me give you an example, which i mentioned in one of my earlier posts; I was looking for a flash diffuser and a remote shutter release cable. Here in my country, these two items are about $60-70. So i searched for them in eBay and found them for really good price in Hong Kong. They were both $1.99 so i bought the items for $4, paid $10 shipment fee and i bought them for $14 in total.

In Turkey for the items that are more than €100, there’s a big risk that your shipment can stuck in the custom. And in this situation you have to pay huge custom taxes which means the end of your “buying cheap” plans. So if you are planning to buy an expensive product from abroad, carefully consider the shipment policy of the company and your country. Also carefully check if the company or seller is trustworthy. Calculate the shipping cost, if you don’t have any idea how to calculate it, write an email to the company or seller that asking the shipment cost to your country. One of the most important things in online shopping from abroad is warranty. You MUST read warranty conditions and see if they provide a world-wide warranty of at least for your country? Check if your country is included in warranty. If it is not you may be facing quite high service costs in case of a problem with the camera.

Good Luck
